Ken Eckerd is an active member of USA Archery, Michigan Archery Association, & Saginaw Valley Archery Association and serves on the Bay City Bowmen Board and the SAM Board. As a USA Archery Level 3 Coach, he shoots and coaches with his home clubs, Bay City Bowmen and Mid-Michee Bowmen.

Ken began shooting archery at a young age and has remained involved ever since, including during his time in Boy Scouts. He and his wife, Tammy started shooting 3D targets together while dating, and archery has continued to be an activity they enjoy and share. Ken and Tammy (who is also a USA Archery Level 2 Coach) started a JOAD team at the Bay City Bowmen Club over 20 years ago. Today, Ken also coach others who want to develop their skills and confidence in the sport. Archery is a family passion for the Eckerd’s as well—Ken, Tammy, and their children, Nick and Jena, have all competed on National levels for archery.

Ken has competed for years in a wide range of leagues and tournaments, shooting compound, barebow, and recurve. Through competition, he has built strong connections within the archery community and gained memorable experiences. His travels for the sport have taken him to events across the United States, as well as to China.

If you see Ken at an archery tournament, stop by and introduce yourself.
